Ayam Masak Kicap (Chicken in Soy Sauce)

Simple dish and favourite to everyone in the house. Anything with soy sauce, won't be rejected.


8 ketul ayam goreng / 8 pcs fried chicken
2 sudu besar pes cili / 2 tbsps chili paste
1 sudu besar bawang kisar / 1 tbsp blended onion
1 sudu teh bawang putih kisar / 1 tsp blended garlic
1 sudu teh halia cincang / 1 tsp chopped ginger
1 cawan kicap soya / 1 cup soy sauce
2 sudu besar cuka / 2 tbsps vinegar
1 btg kayu manis / 1 cinnamon stick
1 bunga lawang / 1 star anise
3 butir buah pelaga / 3 cardamon
1 biji bawang besar (ptg baji) / 1 onion - cut into wedges
potongan cili merah (guna cili padi merah) /red chilli (i used red bird chilies) - sliced
3 sudu besar minyak masak / 3 tbsps cooking oil

Panaskan minyak dalam kuali, campakkan kayu manis, bunga lawang dan buah pelaga hingga wangi. Tambahkan pes cili, bahan kisar dan halia, tumis hingga kekuningan. Tambahkan kicap dan cuka. Biarkan mendidih.
Masuk dan gaulkan ayam goreng, cili burung dan bawang. Renehkan hingga bawang sedikit lembut.
Hidangkan.

Heat up cooking oil in a wok, drop in cinnamon stick, star anise and cardamon to fragrant. Add in chili paste, blended ingredients and chopped ginger, bring to brownish. Add in soy sauce and vinegar. Bring to boil.
Fold in fried chicken, bird chilies and wedged onion. Simmer to tender the onion.
Serve.
